The issue is, some of the students can see the correct answers to the quiz by finding them through a backgate-way (they have to do it on the app, they click the quiz through the grade section, and then click on "submission & rubric"), but that only works for some students. For others, like myself, it says "correct answers are hidden".

The API is not developed as much as for Classic Quizzes. That said, I'm not using a [Classic] Quiz API to get the answers, I'm using the Submissions API. You could check the Submissions API with the include[]=submission_history, but since New Quizzes is separate from Canvas, while Classic Quizzes was a core part, I would not expect it to be there.This could be handled by having a checkbox for a question that is extra credit.
