Edit 3: lol. Now I have the shop running, but quite a lot of my files seem not to be showing in Tinfoil. Below a picture of my filelisting (on my NAS) and under that Explorer window, my Tinfoil 'shop' on my Switch ("New Games"). As you can see there are loads of files not showing up on my Switch and I don't have a clue why.

I found doing a one-time donation to get into a paywalled shop to be much easier than trying to play whack-a-mole with the free ones. Alternatively, you could download games to your PC through the various sites and install them via Tinfoil/your installer of choice. I've recently moved from hbg shops "version" of tinfoil to standard tinfoil,since I heard hbg shop blocks non hbg shop themes. The only tinfoil themes I could find were Blawar Themes over at GBATemp. I have multiple stores added to my Tinfoil setup (which I mostly use for updating my installed titles, but all of this should still apply for you). I keep only one enabled at a time, restarting Tinfoil between switching stores so it can update. Occasionally they'll have different games so it's nice to be able to swap between them.
