Updated:9:46 PM EST January 15, 2024. CASTINE, Maine — This past weekend's powerful storm caused significant damage to waterfront properties in Castine. A dock on the town's pier just off Main Street was destroyed in the storm. It also caused damage to nearby wharfs and docks.
As for snow, the estimated snowfall amounts have been dropping all day. This system looks like a miss for us, so if we see any snow, it will be from a northern band from this system that brings a dusting to southern Maine. Any snow showers that could occur would be between 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The heavy snow will be passing to our south.Warnings were posted statewide for the storm system Wednesday morning.
