The LT1 can handle up to around 700rwhp reliably, but there have been cases before that and after that where the ring gaps have caused issues. LT4 and LT1 are not really close at all. LT4 is lower compression, forged pistons, different heads, different cam. LT4 can handle 1000whp on stock internals.1SS is the base V8 option. That said, its not like it comes stripped. You still get the 8" touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB, and backup camera. It also comes with the 8" configurable drivers screen. Basically comes with more stuff standard than my 2010 did with a few options checked. 1SS pretty much looks exactly the same on the outside as a 2SS.

All the benefits of the 2ss and the 1le. If you're not going to track it and don't mind the suspension being a good amount less stiff, the 2ss sounds like the one for you. To me, the 1le is great on roads, but you really struggle to get within 30% of the car's limits on the road. Those wheels and brakes are FAT.Magnetic ride is tuned differently, (if you get a 2SS with mag ride, you should) and of course the better engine with a super charger.
