Estoc dark souls.
Estoc has the reach, poise damage and variety of attacks (including shield bypass), but the Ropera has better damage, weight and counter bonus. Plus can parry one-handed. And the worst part is that they both look sooo nice. Normally that would be the deciding factor but its no help here ;) 1.

Estoc can attack while shield is up and has a better reach. Long sword is the better offensive weapon. Estoc is the better defensive weapon. For pvp it depends, the rapier has higher critical damage but the estoc has higher base damage, making it a better choice for turtling. Raw weapons (like fire and deep weapons) just raise the base damage but don't give you damage bonus depending on your stats anymore (the scaling). Other infusions change on which stats and how much damage bonus you get. Also, no need to buy a new estoc, you can re-infuse a weapon you infused.

Estoc has more length, shield piercing effect, and a special R2. It may not have as much counter damage as the Rapier, but Dex scaling is hardly ever useful, so the Estoc can get a little more oomph with its higher strength scaling. I love seeing people try to land those RT chains in PvP, it's very easy to get out of the way and punish them for trying to land all 5-6. Backstab test vs. the same mob (PC version btw) with hornet ring: 1031 for ricard +15 1046 for estoc +15 (16 str 40 dex single handed) BTW, the attack rating is 330 for ricard and 334 for estoc at 40 dex 16 str.
