As I understand it, the old one was an honest to god relic from the First World War. The eyesore was on the verge of falling down, and was demolished with the approval of the local base commander.

The base itself is located close to the southwest edge of the map, deep in the wilderness, very far from everything. The military base in Project Zomboid is located west of Rosewood, deep inside the forest (you can check out the exact coordinates of this military base here ). Of course, visiting this place is pretty easy if you're living in Rosewood. Otherwise, it'll take you a long distance to travel there.
