I saw some that were $200+ but I'm looking for something simple and classic around $100 or so. Don't buy the badger the fitment is hit or miss. I had searched several other FFLs, including a chain of FFLs popular in the area, and none of them had any idea when or if they would source a new Python of any description.The King Cobra has a much shorter (and stiffer!) double-action pull than the Python. The KC is what Colt called a MK V action and they made a few Troopers featuring this action before they came out with the King. We bought the one in my safe for my wife from the original run back in the early '90s.The KC was available in matte and bright SS and blue, the Mk. V available in blue, nickel and matte black (Peacekeeper). The action is the same on the KC as the Mk. V as well as the grip frames. The Mk. Vs are coded the model V and the KC is the model AA. Although quite different on the outside, they are basically identical on the inside.

King cobra now that they make the python in a 3 inch is fairly similar, however I would say the KC is more of a carry gun, python is more of a range gun. It has better sights then the KC, and more then likely a solid frame.
