The throttle body is a part of the ESC system, and if any part of the system shows a fault, the ESC is automatically disabled. The problem will probably come back after a while. .Original post follows summation: Intermittent limp mode with two warning lights: the red throttle lightning bolt and the traction control light. One code: P2173. No pattern, could go hours or even a couple of weeks. Shutting down and cycling the throttle would restore it until the next incident. Im not sure about CJD vehicles for sure, but there is an air sensor in there and you should probably not clean that directly. Usually just cleaning the throttle plate and the area around the TB is fine. When I checked my 2014 factory service manual for U0401, this is what I get: U0401-IMPLAUSIBLE DATA RECEIVED FROM ECM/PCM. Possible Causes: TIPM NOT CONFIGURED CORRECTLY. ABM CAN BUS DTCS.
