The battery is already dead. The question is how to open the liftgate without power. I thought the button was mechanical but now that enigma-2 mentions it - it might be electrical only. In that case you'd probably have to put down the back seat and pull the rear cover up from inside. Won't be easy but should work.
If you pull #12 only, the dome lights won't come on when you press the switch on the dash or open your door.
