Because even though Taleworlds figured out brace-polearm in Fire and Sword, they still don't put it bannerlord for some freaking reason, so spearmen of every faction are a waste outside of sim'd battles.

May 15, 2021 · Imperial Units are good all-around Infantry and have some of the best armor in the game. Legionairies are meant to set the standard for "Heavy Infantry" in Bannerlord, IMO, both according to "canon" as well as practical effect. I don't think there's a good "versus" comparison on paper. You'll have to see for yourself.
Going 50/50 linebreakers/spearmen is a great Infantry block. And druz champs are great cav that are one of the best seige units when dismounted. I wouldn't normally use sturgian archers but if you're going 100% sturgian units I might try using some archers. With a proper captain, and banner they will probably still smash.

Yes i know they are the best unit in the game, but I dont want them) Vlandia getting nothing but crossbows is overpowered enough, you can replace your lost crossbows quickly and easily with those. if you want ones that are better armored, the imperial crossbow sergents are quite good but harder to get in large numbers.

Horse archers that can handle melee. Fastest melee cav (which means that enemy horse archers can't get away) carrying best javs (which can shred enemy cav before actual melee).
