I bet that doctor would have been willing to do the hip surgery at Lupe's weight, but making her lose yet more weight was part of the show. My mom weighed the same as Lupe and in the last 15 years of her life, had 3 hip replacements (the first one had to be replaced after 15 years). Kind of pissed me off. She looked in such pain!
