After the recent map release, my Layton Lakes seems to be bugged beyond belief, with problems including, but not limited to: Main mission line has stalled at "Hope - A Visitor". No main mission has been given to me after completing it. Side Mission "Hope #3", to get Quick Kills on male Blacktail Deer, does not give credit for said quick kills.

The Layton missions are OG to this game, but that being said, Layton and Hirch are also probably the least rewarding of the buncha maps as well Imo. Currently trying to do Layton Lakes missions mission 1 is Hope #7 Travel to High Lake Swamps, Harvest 2 whitetail deer downed from a hunting stand. I found the stand (theres only 1) but after multiple days there still no sign of whitetails? mission 2 is Doc #26 Travel to South Lake, Harvest a Whitetail within 30m. The first map I cleared was Layton Lakes, the mission where I had to kill black bears with a .270 and 100 quick kill took me quite a while. This might be partly because I was very new to the game, but I found it hard to get enough penetration on the bear when it was doing anything but standing up on its hind legs to hit heart or lungs. Although, after it spawns, you can leave the tower to hunt it down. The elk spawns 150 meters to the North East. It is a level 5 elk. Not sure if this is still working but there was a trick to get mission animals and ducks to respawn on lakes. It involves going to your lodge (but don't enter). Hunting blind means booth you build for 1700, but you can also use portable blinds from tents and blinds DLC for those missions.
