Also you can easily walk to most things and not move or park a car. I guess it depends on how you define “gay friendly”. I grew up in Charleston. It is not a place where gay people would have to worry about their safety any more than heterosexuals. People generally have a live and let live attitude. Having said that, Charleston offers very little in terms of gay culture.
