I have reloaded 7/8 and 9/8 loads and they work fine with same components and powders, but I favor the 1 oz, 8’s, 7-1/2 or duplex loads, 50/50 mix. I have loaded a few different loads and the final adjustments I make to the charge bar (powder and shot) to get the right weights is not what the factory settings are suppose to be.

Hodgdon data says a Federal 12SO wad will work (Claybuster 2100). I tried a few but there ended up with severely dished crimps. These wads work well with 1oz loads but no go on 7/8 loads. I was using Titewad powder in Top Guns and Federal Gold Medals with same result. Does anyone know of a better wad for this load.
