Based on my own experience and others' I've read, I seems that if you enter a cave with a lake and Tetra in it, then leave the cave before catching them, the fish despawn. I don't believe they respawn, but haven't tested it very thoroughly. So my advice: always bring your fishing gear when spelunking!

I have played Valheim for about 2500 hours now. I did join in the Frost Cave testing. I have created a new world to explore. I'm finding it very time consuming to find mountain regions. When I find a Frost Cave after hours of search I find very little in the Caves. Even after thoroughly searching I feel disappointment in how little I do find. Seems like a lot of work for very little reward.I spent some time jumping seeds for frost caves and collecting fenris hair from caves since I had explored most of the mountains in my main seed pre-patch. I would encounter one of these out of every 5 or 6 caves I explored. They’re a bit of a massive pain to find, atleast for me i went through quite a few new mountain biomes before i even saw 1. Probably easiest to start a new world and look up the map seed beforehand. Have a good sense of where the largest mountains are before heading out on a longship.
