The first time the issue showed up was when I pushed the start button and took longer than usual to fire up. My Son recently purchased a beautiful 2012 Dodge Durango with 13,000 miles on it. After a few weeks he started to experience intermittent problems starting the car. It. would startup and then shutoff after 5 seconds. Fairly often, I push the start button or remote start and the D turns over but doesn't actually start for several seconds. I've noticed this quite a few times since new and can't seem to find a similar reason. It doesn't really matter if it's hot or cold, the tank is full or a quarter, parked flat or on an incline, etc.

Some of the behavior suggests a battery problem and I note you replaced the battery and the engine started and ran a bit but then died. You need fuel, spark, and compression to run. So, you are missing a least one. Have you tried battery reset to see if taking all of the systems back to zero helps? Disconnect negative cable, depress brake pedal 30 seconds, then reconnect and see what happens. My 2011 Durango, a neighbor's 2012 Durango, and another neighbor's 2012 Grand Cherokee all have TIPM issues. Mine was the first to go.
