Short version is: the dev put malware in it. Now we don't trust them anymore. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. GShade will continue to work. I would say that, ethically, it is probably the correct choice to stop using GShade based on today's events. More than ethically, it's just not safe.

Rename your d3d11.dll inside the game folder to dxgi.dll and it should work again. Steam shares the overlay hook with Gshade. Steam and discord overlay tend to be really buggy.
