01. FOLD-BUY. Crash into the base of a rock, and there is a medium sized, flat, open plateau that spreads out from that point, closest nest decent distance away. Everything is within walking distance, with tall grass (wheat) the furthest away but still not bad. You also get a survivor early on.
Equip it as a tool. Ensure that emergency rations are an approved food (cooked, other) for that toon. It helps to also enable "eat on foot" and "sleep on ground", they will take a happiness hit, but better than a 3 hour commute to base for a sammich. I'm not an expert but I figure the target-algoritm is a combination of the aggro value and an actual combat threat. When powered ON the siren - I believe - has the highest aggro/taunt value ingame. I also think it has some sort of active taunt-function, making it ... You can force them into battle the same way as your survivors though. Draft them, then give them orders, the same as survivors. What I like to do is shift-click to give them a movement order. But in reality, all the monsters start attacking walls around the base, from all corners and your defence system of course is not working. …
Make it quite long (big) so mobs requires time to get around. Of course keep a space open like 2-3 space, so the mobs can get into it and to your people and doesnt attack the fence. Always pull out your people from the house because else the mobs will attack the building if your people are in it.
