The Panhellenic Association is a self-governing body, representing 20 women's fraternities and sororities at Purdue University. Panhellenic is composed of 5 executive board members, 7 directors, 4 associate board members, and the Presidents/Delegates Council. We strive to promote academic excellence and involvement in all aspects of sorority life. Fraternities, sororities and cooperatives have been part of Purdue for more than a century and were always regulated under the Office of the Dean of Students as student organization. Sigma Chi, founded in 1875, was the first fraternity founded at Purdue University. Also any decent fraternity at Purdue will be understanding and if coursework starts to get overwhelming they will let you restart pledgeship the following semester if need be. Personally, I've not had any problems maintaining a >3.0 while still being involved. My fraternity also has two members who are on the dean's list (both engineers).
